The Pikangikum First Nation is meeting with the Feds to try and ensure the closure of the school in the community is short-lived.
A number of elementary and secondary classes were cancelled this week, because of mould problems in the teacher’s living quarter.
A number of teachers left the community until the problem is dealt with.
Chief Jonah Strang says they are currently working with the Federal government for a lasting solution.
He’s encouraged by the commitment of the government and hoping for an early return of the teachers back to the community.
