The Grand Chief of the Anishinabek Nation is worried new mining regulations and treaty rights may not go hand-in-hand.
Patrick Madhabee has raised the issue as the provincial government sets out new rules.
Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle says he respects treaty rights and the government takes aboriginal treaty rights very seriously.
Gravelle notes he’s determined to maintain a solid relationship with the Anishinabek Nation.
