Patty Hajdu says she’s honoured to hold a post in the new Liberal cabinet.
The Thunder Bay-Superior North MP is the new Minister of Status of Women.
Hajdu says she received first hand information that she was being considered for a position as Justin Trudeau contacted her last week to gauge her interest.
She calls the portfolio a “perfect fit for her personality” and she promises to speak out for Canadian women.
Hajdu adds she’ll receive a mandate letter from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau within the next few days, outlining the priorities of her post.
She is promising to provide a strong voice for the north.
