One northern Ontario First Nations leader is praising what he calls the valiant efforts of Attawapiskat Chief Theresa Spence.
Spence is ending her 43-day hunger protest.
Patrick Madahbee is the Chief of the Anishinabek Nation in Nipissing and says her efforts have brought attention to the broken treaty relationship between the crown and First Nations.
Madahbee says her hunger strike brought awareness to aboriginal issues on a global level.
He stresses First Nations were never consulted on Bill C-45.
Madahbee says they will continue to advance the fight to implement their treaties and notes they won’t stop fighting Bill C-45.
He stresses the federal government has rammed the unlawful legislation down their throats.
