Northern Wolverines Win Gold In Winnipeg

A golden weekend for the Northern Wolverines Hockey team.

The regional club captured the Spring Shootout Championship in Winnipeg.

The Wolverines won the final game 8-0 over the MJI Storm from Manitoba.

Dryden’s Dylan Sveinson led the way with three goals, while Dryden’s Ethan Willis was named player of the game.

Tyson Ponton of Kenora earned the shutout.

The Wolverines got to the championship game with a 4-1 victory over the Beat Element Aces from Saskatchewan.

The next tournament is in June with the NAHC Super Elite in Winnipeg before the team heads south of the border for the Chowder Cup in Boston in July.
