Some new programs and new facilities for students as schools are now open in the Northwest Catholic School District.
Education Director Rick Boisvert says facilities in Dryden and Sioux Lookout saw some upgrades over the summer.
Boisvert says they are completing renovations at Sacred Heart with the child care facility as well as new playground equipment at St. Joe’s.
He adds they’ve expanded the French Immersion program at Sacred Heart and have introduced a similar program at St. Michael’s School in Fort Frances.
Boisvert is anticipating a smooth start to the school year.
He adds they will be keeping a close eye on enrolment, noting they did see an increase at the end of the last school year.
