Northwestern Ontario isn’t included in a new Liberal plan that addresses the gaps in employment insurance payments for seasonal workers.
The Minister for Families, Children and Social Development, Jean-Yves Duclos, has announced changes to the EI system to address the serious challenges faced by seasonal workers.
Duclos says the government will invest approximately $189-million in the pilot project to provide up to five additional weeks of EI support to eligible workers in 13 targeted regions.
