Northwestern Ontario in Spotlight

The struggling regional economy has caught the eye of a Conservative
MPP.
In the Ontario Legislature this week, Parry Sound-Muskoka member Norm
Miller demanded that the Provincial Government help Northwestern Ontario
residents.
Basing his attack on Energy Minister Dwight Duncan, Miller said the
Liberal power plan is crippling the local economy.
Miller also called on the Government to release how it plans to help
Atikokan if the Coal-Fired Plant shuts down.
Duncan responded by saying the Government still plans to close the
Plant but promised to maintain the 90 full-time jobs.
