Norway House Wins NAFN Title

Out of town teams once again dominated the North American First Nation Tournament of Champions in Kenora.

Norway House was the big winner beating Sakgeen 3-1 in Sunday’s ‘A’ side Final, winning first prize money of $15,000.

In the 1-A Final it was Peguis over Fisher River 5-1, while Cross Lake topped Eagle Lake in the B-side Final 6-5 in a shootout.

Whitefish Bay took top honors in the Oldtimers division beating Waushusk Onigum 5-0, while Cross Lake blanked Whitefish Bay 6-0 for the Women’s division title.
