NOSA Wants Province To Expand Sping Bear Hunt

The Northwestern Ontario Sportsmen’s Alliance is urging the province to expand the spring bear hunt.
A pilot program in select wildlife management units this spring worked well, but didn’t hit the mark in addressing dangerous bear reports.
John Kaplanis says it would be most prudent of the Natural Resources Minister Bill Mauro to consider changes to the pilot project.
He says it did go off relatively successfully in the select units it was applied in, however his organization feels it didn’t hit the mark in targeting bear nuisance encounters.
He would also like to see the hunt expanded to the Dryden, Kenora and Fort Frances districts.
