Nuisance Bear in Red Lake

An aggressive bear had to be killed by OPP in Red Lake.
Police say a bear charged towards a group of children Tuesday evening.
When police located the bear near the intersection of Howey Street and Crosscut Street, it couldn’t be frightened away.
Officers tried police sirens and horns and the bear charged at officers.
OPP stress that killing the bear was a last resort but note that public safety was jeopardized.
