The Minister of Natural Resources says there has been a major increase in the number of nuisance bear complaints in Northwestern Ontario over the past few weeks.
Officials say the bruins are targeting homes with fruit trees in their yards.
The MNR says with the bears getting ready for winter, the trees are an easy source of food.
To avoid problems, homeowners should harvest ripe fruit right away and not leave it lying around.
