Number Of Forest Fires Continues To Fall

The relatively quiet summer continues for Ministry of Natural Resources fire crews in northwestern Ontario.
The unseasonable cool and wet weather continues to knock down the forest fire hazard.
There are now only 17-active fires in the region.
Sioux Lookout has 8-fires currently burning, while Red Lake and Kenora each have one.
Information Officer Debbie MacLean says a small fire can be extinguished within a day, while a large fire can take a couple of weeks.
