A gritty effort for the Dryden Eagle Boys in the High School Hockey opener Tuesday night.
Playing with only 12-skaters, the Eagles dropped a 4-2 decision to the Beaver Brae Broncos in Kenora.
Alex Calvert opened the scoring for Dryden, with a power-play tally early in the contest.
The lead stood until late in the second period, when the Broncos found the back of the net.
The game would remain tied until the 16-minute mark of the third, when Tyler Kirouac scored on a two-on-one.
Chris Hrabec would tie the game with a shorthanded marker with 1:05 left to play, before Curtis Zilinski recorded the winner 11-seconds later.
Joel Gordon would ice the game with an empty-netter, his second of the game.
The Broncos outshot the Eagles 37-28.
Kim Wildhaber was solid in net making 34-saves.
Co-Coach Darryl Mousseau says his boys did well and competed hard.
The Eagles head to Manitoba late Thursday for a Tournament in Morden.
