A new 4-year Off-Campus nursing program will be offered in Dryden,
Sioux Lookout, Kenora and Fort Frances this Fall.
Dryden’s Darlene Furlong spent more then a year working with
Confederation College and Lakehead University to secure the course.
Furlong says the community stepped up to the plate.
She notes the Provincial Government is funding a good portion of the course
with the Dryden Hospital and the Medical Foundation also on board.
The first-of-its kind program will start this September in Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Kenora and Fort Frances and already
nearly 15 people in Dryden have expressed interest in applying.
Furlong says its there hope that the pilot program becomes a staple in
Ontario and Canada.
