A plan to offer a new off-campus Nursing Progam is still alive, despite
talk the Province is thinking about axing hundreds of Nursing positions.
Darlene Furlong is with the Dryden Regional Health Centre and she
says the 4-year Lakehead University-Confederation College course is
scheduled to start-up this fall.
Furlong says the program will be offered in Dryden, Sioux Lookout,
Fort Frances and Kenora.
Furlong says the program is great for those who are interested in
the profession and don’t want to leave their community.
A few hurdles remain however, including securing funding.
