The Northwestern Health Unit has decided to cut per diems to municipal councillors who sit on the its board.
The cost-cutting measure is expected to save about 25-thousand dollars.
Board Chair Derek Mills says management at the health unit is not required to pay them under provincial law.
The health unit did pay 40-dollars for a half day meeting and 80-dollars for a full day.
