The Northwestern Health Unit is promoting the use of
existing government funds for area residents who have
special dietary needs.
NWHU Nutritionist Jennifer Mackie says anyone who
recieves Ontario Works, or Disability Support Funding is
elligable.

Mackie says people can apply for the funding by having
their doctor, registered nurse or midwife write a lettter
describing their special needs.
The cost to feed a family of four in the region is well
over 6-hundred dollars a month, which is about half of what
a person living on O-W gets.
