The Northwestern Health Unit has hired a Medical Officer
of Health just in the nick of time.
The current MOH Dr. Pete Sarsfield is retiring at the
end of this month, and starting January 1st Dr. Monika
Dutt will step into the role.
NWHU Board Chair John Albanese says Dutt obtained her
Doctor of Medicine from Queen’s University and has worked
in Northern Ontario.

The Ministry of Health has yet to approve the
appointment, and has final say on whether or not Dutt will
be the NWHU’s Medical Officer of Health.
