Residents of Ignace and Ear Falls have received a letter in the mail from the Nuclear Waste Management Organization.
The letter disputes claims from Environmental group ‘Northwatch’ who state that not enough information is being presented about the effects of an underground Nuclear repository site.
NWMO Spokesperson Michael Krizanc says they have always been open and transparent.
Krizanc says they will provide any information to both communities as they move forward with exploring the possibility of becoming a host site.
He adds detailed and high level documentation is also available on their website. (www.nwmo.ca)
Krizanc notes screening is taking place in both communities and the final results will be released early in the new year.
