The Ontario Energy Board is warning consumers to beware of telephone and door-to-door sales people claiming to represent the OEB.
The OEB says its received reports, mostly in southern Ontario, of individuals approaching homeowners offering rebates on furnaces and water heaters or suggesting their home needs to be inspected.
Officials say such claims are untrue and violate existing regulations.
