The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters is cautiously optimistic about a decision to review the controversial gun registry.
Spokesperson Greg Ferrant says Prime Minister Martin admiting the registry has been a financial mess is a good first step, however he is hoping the PM goes a step further.
Ferrant hopes the review will spell the end of the whole program.
He says the registry is not supported by anyone in Northwestern Ontario, with several municipalities passing motions condeming it.
However, Martin is on record as saying scrapping the program is not an option.
