An off-duty police officer wearing only flip-flops as footwear chased
down a Dryden teen who attempted to flee the scene of a collision Thursday
night.
The Dryden Police officer witnessed a vehicle driving erratically when
the truck struck a hydro pole, drove through a chain-linked fence and came
to a rest in the front yard of a Van Horne residence.
The driver ran off but was arrested after a short struggle.
The 17-year-old male has been charged with impaired driving, 4-counts
of failing to comply with probation and theft over 5-thousand dollars.
Police say the vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of the
Free Methodist Church.
