OFIA Calling For Changes In Building Code

The Ontario Forest Industries Association is again calling on Ontario to change the building code to allow for construction of mid-rise buildings using wood.
President Jamie Lim says making the move would result in 500-new projects over the next 5-years.
She notes every 6-floor project would use 1-million board feet of lumber.
Lim says she doesn’t understand the hold-up, noting B.C. changed its building code back in 1999.
