OFIA Calling For Elimination Of Red Tape

The Ontario Forest Industries Association says there’s still too much red tape in the province.
Jamie Lim is the Executive Director of the OFIA and says it’s taking too long for companies to secure sustainable forest licence’s.
Lim says every Ontario mill is being challenged with accessing wood and they need to ensure they don’t miss this growth opportunity.
She notes forests are a renewable resource and the government should be doing everything it can to encourage companies to start up or expand their operations.
Lim says there’s been growth in both China and the U.S. and Ontario forest products can meet that demand with a bit of help from the government.
