New changes to the Endangered Species Act will benefit forestry companies in Northwestern Ontario.
That’s the feeling Jamie Lim who is the President of the Ontario Forest Industries Association.
Lim says the changes will streamline operations and allow for more co-ordination between forestry companies.
She adds it will make it easier for companies to ensure their forest management plans are working as the province has eliminated duplicate rules that the industry is facing.
The new changes will be in place for the next 5-years and come into effect following 6 years of lobbying.
