It was a nervewracking couple of hours for the Dryden Eagle Girls.
After suffering a 6-0 loss to the Ridley College Tigers Wednesday morning, the Eagles needed some help to secure the final Wildcard spot at the All-Ontario Final.
After a couple of unexpected ties and some help from Bill Crothers, Dryden nailed down the final wildcard position.
The Eagles needed Corpus Christie to not defeat Bill Crothers by more then 3 goals in order to advance.
A goal late in the contest by Bill Crothers made it a 4-2 game, which sent out screams in one Best Western room, where the girls gathered to get live results.
Dryden moves on to take on the number one ranked St. Theresa Alouettes from Belleville in the Quarter-Final.
The Alouettes rolled through the round-robin with a 3-0 record, while the Eagles finished at 2-1.
Game time is 2:15 cst in Wingham.
CKDR will have the call shortly after 2:00.
