The Ontario Hospital Association is calling on the province for a comprehensive plan identifying future bed and service requirements.
The OHA says the plan would help make sound decision-making regarding where care should be provided, who should provide it, and how it should be funded.
It adds while Ontario’s hospitals are already among the most efficient in Canada, the province would have had to spend an additional $3.6-million just to match that spent by other provinces.
