The Miss McKenzie II should be ready to transport pasengers from
McKenzie Island to Red Lake this Fall.
The hull of the new boat has been completed and framing is underway.
The old ferry went down briefly last week due to engine problems but is now back on the water.
Town CAO Brian Anderson says it should be able to handle 2-more months.
Red Lake has asked for an extension on the service certificate for the old boat and
Anderson is confident the Coast Guard will approve the request.
