The Ontario Medical Association says local residents need to understand the mental and physical health impacts of Cannabis.
A recent survey shows three-quarters of Ontario residents are concerned about the respiratory impacts of cannabis.
OMA President Dr. Nadia Alam says for them it’s not about prevention and trying to stop people from making the choice, it’s about educating people about the impacts of smoking pot.
Alam says it’s important that everyone has the information needed to live a healthy lifestyle.
According to the Nanos Research poll commissioned by the OMA, Ontarians aren’t knowledgeable about the health risks associated with recreational marijuana.
