The forest fire season is winding down and there is now only one blaze currently burning in northwestern Ontario.
That’s in Quetico Provincial Park and the fire is being observed at over 2,800 hectares.
It’s been burning since July 29th.
Two of the season’s biggest fires have been declared out, including Kenora 71 which spanned over 10,000 hectares of land and required up to 200 firefighters from across Canada at the height of suppression efforts.
A fire in Wabakimi Provincial Park has also been extinguished after scorching 8,300 hectares.
