One forest fire over the weekend

The second forest fire of the season has been declared out.

Fort Frances fire #1 was located near Little Pine Lake, about 19 kilometers south of Nestor Falls Saturday afternoon.

It grew to about 0.9 hectares in size.

Highway 71 was partially blocked yesterday afternoon because of the blaze, but it was declared out around 5:00 yesterday afternoon.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says the fire hazard is the high range today because of high winds and dry grass.
