The OPP says a 24 year old from the Rat Portage First Nation has been killed as a result of single vehicle collision.
Police the incident took place before midnight last night (Wednesday) near Matheson Bay Road.
The OPP say there was only one person in the pick-up truck at the time of the collision.
Highway 17 between the by-pass and Godbout Auto was closed overnight and finally reopened before 8 this morning.
Police say the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
