A band member of Shoal Lake #39 says she is seeking the nomination for the Liberal party in the upcoming provincial election in the Kenora-Rainy River Riding.
Karen Kejick is the only person who has so far put their name forward for the party.
Kejick describes herself as an advocate for women and has worked with the Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indiginous Women and Girls in a couple of their nation round-tables.
So far no date has been set for the Liberal nomination meeting.
