Only One Forest Fire Listed As Not Under Control

The forest fire hazard is now low to moderate across much of the region.

There were just three new starts reported Tuesday, one on the eastern shore of Finger Lake, about six kilometres north of Sandy Lake First Nation.

A small blaze also sparked on an island on the Pickerel Arm of Minnitaki Lake.

There are 39 active fires burning across the northwest, only one considered not under control.

Crews managed to extinguish an additional four blazes on Tuesday.
