The Chiefs of Ontario are meeting in Kenora this week.
A couple of days has been set aside to discuss a wide range of issues including the Chiefs’ response to the Ipperwash
Inquiry taking place in southwestern Ontario.
They will also address the housing backlog on first nation
communities across the province.
A strategic plan for housing will be officially released
tomorrow, in advance of the federal government’s budget.
The Chiefs of Ontario represent more than 140 first nations across the province.
