It’s business as usual at Confederation College, and 23 other Ontario colleges.
A planned Friday strike by unionized faculty was called off late Thursday night after the College Employer Council and Ontario Public Service Employees Union agreed to binding interest arbitration on outstanding issues in their contract dispute.
The two sides resumed talks yesterday, ending with an agreement to go to the virtual bargaining table with a Ministry of Labour appointed mediator.
The union says its work-to-rule campaign is also being halted.
Workload, job security and benefits for part-time workers have been some of the sticking points in past discussions.
