Ontario Continue Carbon-Tax Fight

The Ford Government is reiterating its commitment to fighting the federal carbon tax.

Attorney General Doug Downey met yesterday with his counterparts from Manitoba, Alberta, New Brunswick and Saskatchewan to discuss their legal strategies.

Saskatchewan is appealing a lower court ruling that said the federal government had the right to impose the tax on gasoline and heating fuels.

Downey calls its a job-killing tax.

“Ontario continues to stand united with our provincial partners in fighting against this federal overreach into provincial jurisdiction and is committed to using every tool at our disposal to protect the people of Ontario from the Trudeau government’s tax on everything.,” says Downey, “I am honoured to have met with Minister Schweitzer, Minister Morgan and Minister Anderson-Mason to discuss our approach to fight the federal government’s job-killing carbon tax that makes life more expensive for hard-working individuals, families and businesses.”
