Ontario Doctors Approve Binding Arbitration Deal

Provincial doctors have voted 65% in favour of a tentative deal between the Ontario Medical Association and the government that allows for future disputes to be resolved through binding arbitration.

OMA President Dr. Shawn Whatley says the agreement allows for a fair, independent process and prevents the government from taking unilateral actions.

Binding arbitration had been a sticking point in the two sides trying to reach a new contract.
