Ontario Drivers Will Be Paying More To Hit The Road

Ontario drivers can expect to pay more for their vehicles.

Licence fee hikes come into effect Tuesday.

The province says the extra money will go towards maintaining roads, supporting public services, and improving transportation infrastructure.

Here is a list of some of the increases:

Passenger Vehicle Licence Validation for Northern Ontario
Current Fee: $49
New Fee 2015: $54

New Driver’s Licence and Renewals for Northern Ontario
Current Fee: $80
New Fee 2015: $81.50

Commercial Vehicle Validation (3,000 kg and less), Personal Use for Northern Ontario
Current Fee: $49
New Fee 2015: $54

Commercial Vehicle Validation (3,000 kg and less), Business Use
Current Fee: $98
New Fee 2015: $108
