The provincial government is moving forward on its plan to create a stand-alone retirement pension plan.
Finance Minister Charles Sousa introduced Legislation at Queen’s Park Monday.
If passed, it could lay out the framework for the plan to be in place by 2017.
Legislation is also being brought forward allowing for pooled registered pension plans in Ontario, with participation to be voluntary for employers and employees.
