Ontario Métis Demanding Action From The Feds

Local Métis are watching with great interest how the federal government is reacting to a couple of court cases favouring Métis people.
One recognizes Métis being under federal jurisdiction the same way that First Nations are and the other includes land claim issues.
Ontario Métis president Gary Lipinski says its disappointing the feds still want to fight it.
He says it’s a huge waste of resources on both sides, because this case has already been 13-years before the court.
Lipinski adds it’s terrible the government won’t accept responsibility and deal with things appropriately such as what was done with the First Nations and Inuits.
