Environmental groups say the Provincial Government isn’t doing enough
to stop the logging industry from destroying more than 45,000 migratory
bird nests in the Boreal Forest in Northern Ontario.
Jennifer Baker of Ontario Nature says they want an independent review
of forestry practices so bird populations aren’t wiped out.
The coalition is using a report by the Commission for Environmental
Co-operation as evidence that the province is failing to make sure logging
companies use sustainable practices.
