Ontario Power Generation has unveiled expansion plans that will
benefit Ear Falls and the environment.
OPG is finally moving ahead with plans to construct an additional 12
Megawatt Hydroelectric Generating Unit, adjacent to the existing station.
Spokesperson John Earl says the new station will produce enough clean electricity to meet
the demands of 4,000 homes, without changing the water flows on Lac Seul and the English River system.
Earl says they hope to begin construction this summer and the new
unit should be fully operational by fall 2006.
