Premier Dalton McGunity is stepping down as party leader.
He made the announcement to an emergency meeting, after his government faced a second contempt motion over two cancelled power plants.
In regards to the public sector wage freeze, McGuinty says there was little hope because the opposition parties are opposed.
After 16-years, he says it’s time for new blood to take over.
