It could be a few years before local politicians find out how the addition of 18 new seats in Ontario will affect Federal riding boundaries.
Legislation was introduced in the House of Commons increasing the number of seats by 30, with more than half going to Ontario.
Kenora MP Greg Rickford says once the legislation is passed, it will go to a federal commission how to draw up the riding boundaries.
The last report from the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission in 2007 recommended that the Kenora Riding be expanded to include part of Thunder Bay-Superior North.
Those changes were never enacted.
