Ontario Upholds Controversial Law

Ontario says it’ll enforce Canada’s new prostitution law.

Premier Kathleen Wynne says she’s been briefed by the province’s attorney general, who, after a review of the law, found it to be constitutional.

Wynne adds at this point, Ontario will take no further action, noting the province will, however, continue to monitor the law and determine its impact on workers. Wynne had previously expressed concern that the new law would put sex-trade workers at greater risk. (File photo)
