Ontario’s Public Accounts Released

Ontario’s deficit for the fiscal year ending March 31 was $14 billion. Public accounts released today show the shortfall was down $2.7 billion from the projections in this year’s budget. The Liberals credit their own efforts to make government more efficient for reducing the red ink.
Finance Minister Dwight Duncan says more than three-quarters of all ministries found savings or spent less than projected. The $14-billion deficit is the exact amount the Liberals say is missing from the Progressive Conservatives campaign platform
