Starting tonight, Ontario Provincial Police will be on the lookout for drivers refusing to obey the Highway Traffic Act in a 24 hour blitz called Operation Corridor.
Last year the initiative was concentrated on major highways in the South but Traffic Sgt. Dave Bell says Northwestern Ontario will be part of the campaign.
While the main thrust of this year’s initiative is commercial vehicles, Bell says all motorists will be under scrutiny.
In 2003, Officers stopped some 8,000 vehicles laying more than 4,000 charges.
It all begins tonight at 6:00.
