Ontario Power Generation is asking everyone to stay safe, be prepared and evaluate water conditions when heading out swimming this long weekend.
OPG says there have been more than 60-reported drowning deaths in this province so far this year.
Officials say these deaths call for an emphasis on safety.
Make sure you have a life jacket when boating and ensure you evaluate water conditions before swimming regardless of your age and ability.
OPG stresses water conditions can change quickly and without warning.
OPG asks that you stay away from dams and generating stations but obey all warning signs and fencing if you do approach a hydroelectric facility.
